It's Hump Day Again

Things to hump on this hump day...

1. Hump the lady from my post yesterday. She came to work today just as bitter as ever. Someone please hump her asap. I think if I tried, it might cause tension her in the office so I'm gonna leave it up to you.

2. Hump people that recycle. I am starting a new trend of being greener. I've already went 80% all organic on stuff for the yard. Call me a hippie I don't care.

3. Hump my new Internet connection. It's unbelievably fast. I average 12 down and 7 up. Who knew CenturyTel was that fast. Not me. And especially not for $50 a month on a year contract. (sorry for the crappy cell phone pic)

4. Hump the American spirit and people that help other people. There is a mayoral race happening in Memphis and people are asking the candidates what they plan on doing about the high grass at the house next door. Memphis is one of the top cities in the US for crime and murder and you are complaining about garbage, grass, and neighbors. I send a hump out to the people that pitch in and help their neighbor and community. Just think at the tax money that could be saved if the citizens took a little initiative and mowed that grass or helped their community instead of spending wasted time and effort bitching about it and looking up who to call. Who gets recognized more? People that bitch or people that do? Hell, while I'm on this recycle kick, might as well start a neighborhood watch too. I hate not really knowing my neighbors. I remember growing up after we moved into the city and everyone knew everyone for several streets over. And I'm not talking about just knew. We knew what time they went to bed, who was their house by what car was in the driveway, what they were doing for the holidays, and sometimes what they had for dinner. We NEVER had a break in. EVER.

5. Hump everyone making the most out of our current economic situation. God love ya. It's tough sometimes. Cutting out things that aren't necessities and clipping coupons. It's gotten that way for us and most of the people we are close to. Keep your chin up. Things will get better. At least most of us still have food, water, air to breathe, and a place to sleep.

You guys have a happy Hump Day. I love ya.

I have a pink cowboys jersey :0) To bad is that moron Tony Romo's name on it.
My son has been in the "big kid" class at daycare since he turned 3. NO accidents at all. It's been great, BUT he still sleeps in a diaper. So good job Harmony!
Hopefully Crystal will get up and running soon, I know that just mentally that will be a big boost for her.

Yesterday I cancelled our home phone with CenturyTel. The only people who call us on it are our family members (who also have our cell phone numbers) and telemarketers, who can take a flying leap. I thought I might keep the home phone but CenturyTel told me to keep a landline, with only local calling (before we had unlimited long distance), was going to be only a $2 difference. WHAT? I can call anyone I want whenever I want and it only costs me $2 a month more than just a basic phone? Yeah, stupid! So, I cancelled it all together.
I also cancelled the data plan on my phone and went to a different text messaging plan. That saved me $50/mo, and going without a home phone saved me $40/mo.
I told the hubby the cable was next, and the gym membership after that. Having a more difficult time with those. Though, I would like to see how our family dynamic would change. Could go from bad to worse, or from bad to better....I'll let you know if we decide to cut those out. Might be spending a lot more time at y'all's house!

I re-read what I commented, and it sounds like family life for me is bad and it is not. Life is actually really good! :)
Just hate spending money on things we do not use, which is why I made those cuts. I'd rather spend that money I will be saving on a summer vacation next year, or whatever else we decide, but in the mean time, saving money makes me happy!

Ha Ha. No worries come on over anytime. Saving mulah puts a smile on my face too. We have cut out almost everything and now have to get everything back because of this new business thing.

I can't tell you how much time I've spent shopping for the best bargain and on the phone. I bet I was on the phone with centurytel for a good 3 hours to get the deal I got.

I know this is your blog and you don't know me- but I got a job offer today! yay hump day!

ps we recycle because we are charged for it if we do or not. I think it's a good idea because it doesn't really take that much time to sort stuff (plus we make the kids do the recycles).

@ spagetti - I love you! Hahaha :) the recycling comment is great. My kids do the same. That is why we have children, right? To keep up with the chores. I'm excited to hear about this job offer! Everyone keeps nagging me to try to get them in here @ Lutheran because the economy is so tight. We are growing though & have jobs posted now and then. Trust me, if I could weed out some of these people & relace them with people that I know would listen & learn the job .... *sigh* I'm ranting again. End of that. Morale of the story - i wish everyone had jobs & that I worked with intelligent, capable people. Is that too much?

I love saving money...we have neighbors who dump 30 gallon bags of their old cans on the corner every few weeks. We're in Oregon and at 5 cents per can it adds up to be about $7 per bag. I scored 3 bags last week, and we added our cans to that and we came out of the store with $25. Not bad for a little work.
